Check back to this site in the coming months to get details on our agenda for 2025, which will cover leading edge topics designed to help you manage your lab or pathology practice more effectively!

One transformative force in healthcare and laboratory medicine will be front and center this year. It is artificial intelligence (AI), soon to be incorporated into every instrument and software offered by vendors to clinical labs and pathology groups! Special sessions will help you learn what’s working with AI today, what’s coming next, and the best AI bets your lab can make to improve clinical services and financial performance.

Related to the swift advances in artificial intelligence is the equally powerful trend of “big data in healthcare.” Advances in information technologies make it possible to assemble ever-larger pools of data, analyze that data, and generate actionable intelligence. In fact, The Dark Report recently predicted that “Soon, the primary objective of a laboratory—and a source of increased reimbursement—will be the lab’s ability to deliver knowledge and clinical intelligence.”

Given that more sophisticated use of lab test data will be a key to unlocking new sources of revenue for clinical labs and pathology groups, the 2025 Executive War College will feature numerous sessions by first-mover and early-adopter labs. They will share their successes at improving patient outcomes and winning new reimbursement arrangements with payers because of the novel ways they pool different data sets and help referring physicians to deliver better patient care.

Swift advances in genetic testing and whole genome sequencing will be another major theme this year. In the march to precision medicine, it is labs that will lead the way because they are producing the genetic, proteomic, and other “omic” data used by physicians to diagnose patients and identify the best treatments. You’ll hear presentations by labs at the leading edge of this trends.

Continuing acute shortages of lab staff and the need to better control costs will get full attention during the 2025 Executive War College. Other sessions will address changes in lab compliance, new opportunities in managed care contracting, innovations in coding/billing/collections, and what’s new with Lean Six Sigma and ISO 151895
