Stanley Robboy, MD FCAP, FFPath FRCPI (Hon), FRCPath (Hon)
Stanley is Professor Emeritus of Pathology at Duke University and Past President of the College of American Pathologists. He has written extensively about the Pathology Workforce. In the 1970s, he identified the professional effort in surgical pathology was commonly grossly under-compensated. Academically, he was a principal who unraveled the DES (diethylstilbestrol) story about a drug given during the 1940s and 1950s to women with high-risk pregnancies, only to learn 20 years later that a small percentage of the exposed daughters developed vaginal clear-cell cancer. He edited the textbook, Robboy’s Pathology of the Female Reproductive Tract.
