Jessie Conta is a licensed and certified genetic counselor with expertise in genomics, laboratory stewardship, healthcare delivery, and leadership. She is a laboratory stewardship consultant and owner of Pickhandle Consulting, where she focuses on identifying, analyzing, and reducing barriers to access and financial coverage of genetic counseling and testing for individuals, providers, and payers. Prior to Pickhandle Consulting, she dedicated the past 15 years to promoting laboratory stewardship at Seattle Children’s Hospital and co-founded PLUGS® (Patient-centered Laboratory Utilization Guidance Services), a laboratory stewardship collaborative with a mission to improve laboratory test access, ordering, retrieval, interpretation and reimbursement.
