Shashi Shetty, PhD is an associate professor of pathology at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), CLIA and molecular genetics director at the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center, program director of the Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellowship and director of cytogenetics at University Hospitals (UH).
She is dual board certified in clinical cytogenetics and molecular genetics. She was trained in cytogenetics at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Canada, and molecular genetics at the UH/CWRU, Cleveland, Ohio. She is an expert in the diagnosis of prion disease, and her research investigates the role of the X chromosome in prion diseases.
