Sample Healthcare
Ankit Ranjan is the founder and CEO of Sample Healthcare, a Y Combinator-backed technology company helping molecular diagnostic labs safely deploy AI into their clinical operations. Leading labs like Adaptive Biotechnologies and Ambry Genetics use Sample’s clinical language models to scale processes from prior authorization to report generation.
Prior to founding Sample, Ankit studied at University of Oxford, researched automatic differentiation for computer vision at the MIT Media Lab, and deployed privacy-preserving AI models as a researcher at Stanford Bioengineering. He left his PhD in Functional Neurosurgery at University of Oxford to be first engineer at Ambience Healthcare, which builds an AI medical scribe used by Cleveland Clinic and UCSF. He was also an early hire at Curative, helping scale the organization to over a million tests per week during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Oxford graduate focuses on enhancing clinical workflows through AI, specifically in prior authorization and denials management. Sample’s systems have measurably multiplied clinical staff productivity while maintaining safety protocols and diagnostic quality. Ranjan has established Sample Healthcare as a developer of scalable AI integration for molecular diagnostics laboratories, combining his technical background with practical healthcare experience.
